+ Enrollment

  1. How do I enroll? Visit QualShop and select the desired course/program. Click Purchase to complete the registration form and submit your payment.
  2. Can I enroll in just the coding courses? Yes, if you have previous training or experience in the healthcare industry, you can bypass the required prerequisite courses by successfully passing the proficiency exam.
  3. What is the difference between the 23-week program and the 14-week program? The 23-week program is designed for students that have little to no medical coding training. The 14-week program is geared towards individuals that have proven experience in the health sciences field that want to pursue a career the medical coding profession.
  4. What’s covered on the proficiency exam? The proficiency exam assesses your knowledge in the areas of Anatomy & Physiology and Medical Terminology.
  5. Whom do I contact to take the proficiency exam? You must call QualCode, Inc. at 212-368-6200 and ask for a proficiency exam for the 14-week program.

+ Payment/Tuition

  1. What are the payment options? Payments are accepted via Stripe, PayPal, Zelle and check. All payments should be made out to QUALCODE, INC. Company and personal checks must be submitted at least 7 days prior to the start of class.
  2. When do I have to pay? Course fees must be paid at the time of enrollment.
  3. Is there a payment plan? Yes, both the 23-week and 14-week Medical Coding Certificate Programs have a payment plan option. We do not offer a payment plan option for individual course enrollment.
  4. Are books included in the course fees? No, course fees listed do not include any required or recommended textbooks/supplies or computer requirements, which are to be purchased separately by the student.
  5. Does the tuition include the cost of the CPC exam? No, the fee for AAPC membership and CPC certification exam are not included.

+ Technical Requirements

  1. What are the technical requirements? A desktop or laptop computer is preferred. Tablets work for some tasks but not all. A minimum of 2 GB of RAM, high speed internet connection, webcam/microphone for class participation.
  2. Do I need to install software on my computer? No, you do not have to install any software. The learning management system is browser-based and is compatible with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Edge.

+ Course Information

  1. Are the courses completely remote? Yes, the program is 100% online.
  2. Do you offer in-person classes? No, we do not offer in-person classes at this time.
  3. How do I access course materials? Once you enroll, you will receive a username and password to access the learning management system. All course materials will be available online.
  4. Do students need to attend classes at specific times? Yes, each course has dedicated online classroom hours twice per week with a live instructor. Classroom hours are during the week from 6:00 - 9:00 PM ET. Classroom days are dependent on the course.

+ Additional Information

  1. What do students receive at the end of the program? Students who successfully pass all courses in the program will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to sit for the AAPC CPC exam.
  2. Does the program include job placement assistance? We do not currently offer job placement assistance, however, we can provide you with guidance and resources to assist with your entry into the medical coding profession.
  3. Does QualCode hire students from the program? Unfortunately QualCode cannot hire students from the program because our positions require a minimum of 5 years coding experience.
